“Record Down Under”
As the lead designer, I created our most technical run kit to date for ultra-endurance athlete William Goodge. The gear had to handle relentless heat, variable terrain, and extreme physical demand while staying lightweight, versatile, and distinctly Vuori.
The Challenge:
100°F+ desert temperatures
70+ consecutive days of running
Sweat management + friction reduction
Multi-use performance without overpacking
Visually storytelling Vuori's technical edge in a raw, human way
We needed to prove our product could perform at the edge of human capability, without sacrificing comfort, brand integrity, or function.
The Inspiration:
Drawn from the scorched tones and textured terrain of the Australian Outback, this kit was designed to feel like it belonged in the landscape, not just survive it. Sunwashed hues, matte textures, and functional silhouettes mirror the natural grit of long days in the dirt. Every detail was considered for movement, protection, and simplicity

William Goodge is now the fastest person ever to run across Australia. From Perth to Sydney 3,841.4km. 34 days. A total of 91 marathons back to back.

Terrain Run Short = Hero Product
Legit performance short. He loved the fit, the lightweight shell that didn’t hold sweat and the updated waistband and back stash pockets. It was perfect for carrying trackers, AirPods, and gels securely.
Yiu Yang Grid Mesh Liner was the Standout Feature
He couldn’t stop talking about it. Said it was the best liner material he has worn and didn’t need to wear underwear even on 65-mile days. While we had to shift to the promax mesh for cost, he strongly favored the original. We will still have it in the Hardkore Short but should continue to use it on more styles moving forward!
Terrain SS & LS - Material and Fit Dialed
All tops dried quickly, didn’t hold sweat, and had zero chafe. He liked the relaxed, easy fit across the board.
